Papakolea Beach

Green Sands Beach (or Papakolea) is the definition of seclusion. The beach, which is known for the sparkling green sands that grace the shore, is carefully tucked away where only the truly dedicated beachcomber can uncover it. A dusty trek of two miles brings you to the beach’s craggy edge, and then you have to venture down the side of the bowl-shaped rim before finally setting foot on those lovely green sands. And why is the sand green? It contains traces of a semi-precious stone called olivine that has a greenish tint. The hike getting there is long, but it’s worth it! No noisy crowds or tourist traps and a beach landscape unlike any other – it just might be the perfect adventure for two…

Kamari Beach

Kamari_Santorini

Kamari is situated 10 km south-east of Fira. Kamari is situated in the opposite side of Perissa, with the enormous rock(Mesa Vouno) in the middle. It is one of the most touristic Santorini beaches. The landscape is very similar with the endless black sandy beach of Perissa. The difference is that Kamari is not built in the same manner, the settlements lines the beach. It is much more crowed and for that reason, you will find more diversity in rooms to let, hotels, tavernas, cafe, bars and night clubs.
From Kamari, you can take a caique( traditional fishing boat) to visit Anafi isle or to join other Sanrorini beaches. You can also visit the Archaeological site of Ancient Thira.
