Located north of St John’s close to the entrance to the harbour and being so close is very popular with cruise ship passengers. There are a couple of beach bars and on weekends it is a favourite with locals who like to play beach volleyball or cricket.
South west of Hora, Mylopotas beach is the busiest beach of Ios and can get really crowded during summer.
The long sandy beach extends for one kilometre and offers sun beds, umbrellas, beach bars, cafes, restaurants and a great variety of sea sports. Its emerald waters are a real delight as is its pure golden sand.
