Kathisma beach on Lefkada – Greece

There are some beaches in Lefkada  and one of the most attractive and beautiful  beach in this place is Kathisma. It is very close to the capital city of Greece. After about 15 kilometres distance you will arrive this great place.

Have you ever se the turquoise and white color together? In Kathisma the sand is white and the sea is turquoise which provides an amazing sight seeing. The rocky environment makes it more interesting.

Besides good restaurants, cafes and nice food, you can find water attractions here. For accommodation hotels, camps, and holiday villages are present.

Located on Milos island’s south coast, about 12 km from Adamas.
A small cove with crystal clear waters and a sandy beach. Access is a bit problematic, since you will have to climb down on foot from the parking lot. Nonetheless, the beauty of this place will more than make up for this slight inconvenience.

The beach attracts mainly young people. Bring your own food and drink, since there are no facilities or services here.

This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Milos and the most peculiar one.
It is located along the coastal road east of Adamas, at the north-eastern of Milos.
It is the most photographed site of the Aegean, very impressive because of its particular landscape; it is a unique place with elongated, horizontal rocks over the sea; those rocks are eroded by the salt water, with small and huge hollows all over them.

The entire landscape formed by the volcanic rocks is completely empty of plant life and of a bright white, contrasting with the deep blue and the turquoise of the surrounding waters.

This entire amazing image creates the sensation of standing on the moon, in a lunar landscape.

Santa Maria is located near Naoussa, in Plastira Bay and is a long coastline divided in many soft, golden sandy beaches which offer a beautiful view on the island of Naxos and crystalline emerald waters.

All the small beaches forming Santa Maria beach are fully organized, with sun beds, umbrellas and water sports facilities such as windsurf, scuba diving, paddle boats, etc…

A campsite is located behind the beaches and makes it really crowded during the pick season of July and August.
The beaches of Santa Maria in Paros can be reached by local bus or by infrequent fishing boats leaving from the harbour of Naoussa.

The Red Beach is one of the unique beaches composed of black and red sand. It is situated near Akrotiri.
You couldn’t ask for a more breathtaking setting for a swim. Soaring red lava cliffs which drop right to the black sandy shore and into the clear blue sea make for a majestic setting and one to enjoy.
To get there, you will need a car and then you’ll need to walk.

Pounda Beach is one of the most famous and most crowded beaches of Paros and reminds of the Paradise Beach in Mykonos.

It is a fully organized beach located 2 kilometres from Logaras (south-east of Parikia) which offers a big touristy complex with many touristy facilities such as swimming pools, restaurants, bars, shops, sea sports facilities, Bungee Jumping, etc…

Most of the visitors are going to Punda for its many facilities and for its loud music and its endless parties.

Pounda Beach can be reaches by asphalted road, by local buses of private transportation.

Platis Yialos beach is located about 4 km from the center of Mykonos town, a very popular beach on the south side of the island. It is also one of the longest beaches on Mykonos.
Platis Yialos beach is the most frequented beach on the island. Many buses bring people every half an hour to catch the caïques which leave Platis Yialos to all other south coast beaches (Paranga, Agrari, Elia, Paradise and Super Paradise).
Platis Yialos is a large golden sandy beach with fantastic “turquoise” crystal waters.

Perissa is a beach resort situated 15 km south-east of Fira. It is a touristic village which offers an impressive long and comfortable black sandy beach. It is characterized by an enormous rock called Mesa Vouno which is rising from the sea.
A feature that makes Perissa unique (besides the crystal water and the smooth sand) is the fact that is the best protected beach from the summer Aegean winds (called “Meltemia” in Greek). Perissa lies right next to Profitis Ilias mountain, totally protected from the North.

Paraga beach is the first in the chain of southern beaches which is tolerant to nude sunbathing and supports the needs of the young and fashionable. One of the island’s smallest beaches, it is a combination of two sandy beaches separated by a headland. Although organised, it has a new-age feel about it, with fine sand and huge rocks juxtaposed with blue water. The beach can be reached by bus or by a 15 minute walk from Platis Gialos.

Originally called Kalamopodi, Paradise beach is one of the most famous beaches of Mykonos. It lies on the south side of Mykonos and is very popular with the young crowd. Paradise developed its fame and contemporary name through its discovery by the “Hippies” and other world traveling backpackers of the 60′s.
